Burnside Industrial Park Phase 11-1

Project Description
Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) identified the need for additional ‘pad-ready’ lots for industrial and commercial customers in Burnside Industrial Park. Phase 11-1 included the construction of eight new lots and approximately 650 metres of fully serviced street. The services included a water distribution system, a sanitary sewer collection system, and a storm sewer system. A natural gas distribution system was also installed as part of the construction. Design and construction was completed in approximately five months.

Services Provided
Terrain Group provided topographical and legal survey services, and detailed engineering design services for this development project. To enable grading of the industrial lots, preliminary design of the Wright Avenue Extension was completed. Terrain provided full-time construction review services as part of the construction phase. This review, including engineering certification and as-built survey information, was used to prepare record drawings that were delivered to the approval agencies. Terrain also worked with HRM and SaskEnergy to complete detailed design for the natural gas distribution system. The completed project included fully serviced streets with curb and gutter, and graded lots.
