Capilano Country Estates Phase 5 and 6

Project Description
Capilano Country Estates is a 200 plus acre, large lot residential development with central water service and individual on-site sewage disposal systems. In the Beaver Pond area, the development is bounded by the proposed expansion lands of the Ashburn Golf Club. Many lots will back onto the golf course expansion.

Capilano Country Estates is bisected by Duck Lake Brook, a large stream that discharges into Beaver Pond. The site is vegetated with mature hemlocks and hardwoods. Moderate topography gives the development a rolling feel across the hills and vales.

• Full hydrologic and hydraulic modelling for Duck Lake Brook was carried out to design the two stream crossings.
  
• Each crossing was achieved using twin 2400 mm diameter concrete pipe.
  
• Terrain carried out permitting for services and stream crossings; and construction review services were provided to Halifax Regional Municipality and Halifax Regional Water Commission standards.
