Kingston's Waterfront Master Plan

Project Description
Kingston's waterfront was successful but was in need of repositioning itself to take advantage of a growing pleasure-boating market and tourism.

Services Provided
Scott Konkle was the project manager and principal designer for this master planning project. Recommended a development strategy for the waterfront which would complement the tourist industry and augment the economic base of the downtown. Also developed a business plan based on general trends and economic impacts of recreational boating in Ontario. Sustained economic benefits and those from construction activity were projected in terms of employment creation and primary/secondary spending. BILD Secretariat and federal grants totalled $1.5 million as a result of the reports.
