Musquodoboit Transit Oriented Community Design

Project Description
Terrain Group designed a transit-oriented mixed-use community for a 47-acre parcel of land in the core of Musquodoboit Harbour. In preparing the design, Terrain provided policy and regulatory analysis, reviewed the site topography, analyzed historical community data, and obtained input from the community on the design layout.

Services Provided
The key focus of this project was an active living community with a focus on alternative modes of transportation. A key component of the design was active transportation. Terrain developed a conceptual design that incorporated human scale mixed use neighbourhoods with single family and aging-in-place facilities, combined with universally accessible trails, and sidewalks to promote active living. Terrain represented SWR Developments at public open houses and meetings with approval agencies. The combination of Terrain’s knowledge and expertise paired with a ready and willing developer cumulated in a unique design solution for this site.
