Oakfield Golf & Country Club Sewage Treatment System Study Design and Construction
Project Description
Oakfield Golf & Country Club encountered odour and run-off problems associated with their on-site sewage system. Complaints from members fuelled their need to find an alternate solution. The average flow from the facility was approximately 3,000 imperial gallons per day; however, the flows more than doubled during tournament events.
Services Provided
Terrain Group investigated the facility flows and the available sewage disposal and treatment technologies available. A number of alternatives were considered ending with our recommendation of the Orenco recirculating sand filter technology. Our staff liaised with the Club and Nova Scotia Department of Environment and Labour throughout the pre-design report, detailed design, tendering, and construction. The system included a surge tank for tournament flow detention, ultraviolet disinfection, and wetland discharge.
