Village of Petitcodiac Rural Plan

Project Description
Terrain Group was retained by the Greater Moncton Planning District Commission to prepare a new Rural Plan for the Village of Petitcodiac, located west of Moncton. This new document replaced the Village’s former Municipal Plan and Zoning By-Law. The new Plan addresses the community’s growth potential and provides a tool for accommodating future development.

Services Provided
As a basis for the new Rural Plan, a Background Report was prepared outlining existing conditions and past trends in the Village. This report covered issues such as population growth, development activity, and municipal infrastructure.

Consultation with Village Council over the course of the project included a Visioning Session to identify goals and objectives for future growth. A Policy Workshop was also held with Council to develop policies to be contained in the new Rural Plan.

The final document incorporates Village Council's vision of the community's future and sets forth policies and proposals along with zoning regulations for future development in the Village.

Terrain also provided professional services associated with the required Public Hearing under the Community Planning Act for adoption of the Rural Plan by Village Council.
