Red Cross Plasma Fractionation Facility

Project Description
Terrain Group, working under the close direction of the Red Cross Fractionation Corporation, undertook a site evaluation process which involved the development of criteria, evaluation of that criteria, and the ultimate selection of a site to house the new proposed fractionation facility that would be designed to handle all plasma fractionation requirements for the entire country of Canada. This facility was valued at $400 million at the time of the study.

This project had several components, the first being site selection, the second being detailed evaluation of the sites, and the final being the creation of a master site development plan. Terrain Group, with Raytheon, was responsible for all phases of this project.

Services Provided
Terrain Group directed the site evaluation process, completed a detailed site analysis and organized the public participation/information sessions. Following the actual site selection Terrain Group developed an overall site master plan that was then used for costing and functional planning.
