Sherwood Golf Course

Project Description
Sherwood Golf Course, located in south-central Nova Scotia, is a privately owned 18-hole course covering approximately 200 acres. Our client required an accurate and up-to-date map of the facility. The deliverable was needed for display and promotional purposes, and for inventory and facilities management.

Services Provided
This project was well suited to take advantage of the efficiencies of the Global Positioning System (GPS). Our technicians mapped approximately 15,000 feet of roads and cart paths, together with fairways, greens, traps, and watercourses. Many of the features were mapped from a moving vehicle. A pre-defined data dictionary was used to efficiently correlate the features and positions.

The field data was consolidated and compiled as a coloured digital drawing. The computer-aided drafting product is easily updated or modified as required for any particular use or presentation.

GPS technology helped to bridge the gap between small-scale photogrammetric mapping and conventional field survey methods. This innovative approach provided a cost-effective solution to our client’s needs.
